Welcome

Trends in scientific computing

The way we use computing in science and industrial design will certainly change over the next few years due to the abundance // rapid succession of new developments in hard- and software.

But in which direction?
What to choose – what to avoid?
How can you best benefit from the changes for your own work?
Let us think out of the box!

In this summer school – including an “Industry Day” – we will address key aspects essential for future computer based engineering. Leading experts will give insight and advice. In practical afternoon training sessions you will be able to immediately apply what you have just learned in the mornings. Besides, the summer school will offer an “Open Space” where you can build partnerships for future projects and collaboration. As usual, the program will also feature an attractive field trip and a delicious conference dinner.

Join us if you are

  • bachelor, master or PhD student
  • scientific staff at universities (researcher, lecturer, professor)
  • R&D manager, development engineer, chief technology officer
  • executive director (of a small and medium-sized enterprise)

For industry representatives short in time, we will hold an “Industry day” on 26 July. You will get the “industrially relevant essence” in just one day.

General topics we will cover together

  • The future of ICT
  • Computing needs and hardware trends
  • Programming future hardware
  • Cloud services for science and industry
  • Mobile and visual computing

Your summer school is hosted by St. Poelten University of Applied Sciences and “Zukunftsakademie Mostviertel”, a consortium of leading industries in Lower Austria.

Various competitive stipends are available for bachelor and master students.
